The Brand Zambia: 'Zambia Moves You' Campaign Explained

Imagine waking before dawn on a baecation in Livingstone and climbing to a rooftop just in time to watch the sunrise paint Victoria Falls in shades of gold and orange. Thanks to travel reels and creator culture, you no longer need to imagine Zambia through postcards alone. Influencers are now showcasing the country through drone shots, storytelling, hashtags and cinematic content online.

How the Brand Zambia Initiative Is Shaping National Identity

On 3 March 2026, the Brand Zambia Initiative was officially launched by President Hakainde Hichilema under the theme ‘Ignite the Spirit of Zambia’. He called upon citizens, corporate entities and institutions to make the initiative a collective responsibility in advocating for the country’s strengths, principles, and prospects. He also highlighted that the Brand Zambia Slogan, “Zambia Moves You,” is beyond inspirational. It echoes the country’s determination to take its due place in the world. Emphasis was made on Zambia promoting its tourism potential, abundant natural resources, and cultural heritage to increase trade, investment, and partnerships that will hasten socio-economic development.

How Zambian Creators Are Promoting the Country Online

It’s undeniable that Zambia has long been known for its copper production. But Zambian creators and influencers are also aiding in presenting different sides of the country to wider online audiences. Through vlogs, blogs, travel reels, food content, and lifestyle storytelling, various creators are contributing to how Zambia is viewed on the internet.

Food Creators Bringing Zambian Cuisine Online

Clara Kapelembe Bwali

Scroll through social media platforms like Instagram, X, or Facebook, and you will be met with picture after picture of impeccably presented and mouthwatering meals. In the age of social media, creators often feel surprisingly familiar and accessible to audiences.

Her work has featured collaborations with major brands, including food and lifestyle campaigns in Zambia. Her work also introduces wider audiences to aspects of Zambian culture. She helps outsiders understand that Zambian cuisine is far from simple, and that in a country with more than 70 ethnic groups, there is a broad range of flavours, preservation methods, and traditional dishes that seldom make it into the global conversation.

Dr Kunda Phiri

After experiencing weight gain during and after pregnancy, Dr Kunda tried customary approaches such as restrictive dieting, skipping meals, and intensive workouts, but found that they were difficult to maintain long-term. What eventually was her breakthrough was applying evidence-based nutrition, behaviour change science, and consistency instead of perfection.

That experience inspired the creation of The Weight Loss Clinic. Since then, the clinic has worked with women who are pursuing sustainable weight management. While promoting the use of Zambian local foods on the clinic’s website, she also educates audiences about nutrition, portion sizes, and healthier eating habits.

It’s no secret that I am a food lover, but the doctor’s influence keeps my tummy fat in check. She rebukes all manner of “jojo tanks” on all her social media platforms.

Why Authenticity Matters More Than Follower Counts

What matters most is showcasing Zambia as authentically as possible because audiences are often drawn to genuine personal connections. People want to feel connected to you and me, the real people behind the lens, rather than simply scrolling past another post. For creators, that is what influence should mean.
