The use of plastic is one major part of that tsunami. Plastic is an integral part of our lives. We are touching it all day and much of that plastic we only touch or use once. Single-use shopping bags, packaging, plastic bottles for drinks, take away food, straws are in and out of our hands in an average of twenty minutes.

I never assumed I would have anything to do with art. When I was younger I never spent any time indoors and I wasn’t very good at drawing or painting. I didn’t have much interest in art at junior school and I didn’t participate in art classes at high school either, however, I did doodle a lot.

You know its summer in Sub-saharan Africa when you hear the shrill, jet engine-like cry of the cicada. The sun shines fiercely in the clear blue skies, the trees stand like pillars, unwavering, as their leaves in radiant shades of green, dance ever so slightly in the warm breeze.
